Cara Delevingne sending first ever 'space selfie'

Cara Delevingne will send the first ever selfie into space as part of a new campaign with Samsung.

Cara Delevingne will boldly go where no one has gone before - when she becomes the first person to have a selfie in space. The 27-year-old supermodel and actor is teaming up with Samsung as part of their latest intergalactic mission, which will launch on October 23. Once the stunt goes live, Samsung customers can be in with a chance of having their own 'space selfie' by submitting their snaps to the tech giant's Mission Control website. Winners will be chosen at random and their photos will appear in space until the competition ends on October 31. The 'SpaceSelfie' will work using two Galaxy S10 5G smartphones, one of which has been lifted 65,000 feet above the earth in a giant helium balloon able to withstand temperatures of up to -65°C. The other is at Samsung's newly-opened Samsung KX experience space in London's Kings Cross. The space phone will receive selfies transmitted from earth and layer them over real-time shots of the planet creating a bespoke, limited edition 'space selfie.' This photo will then be sent back down to earth for its owner to share on social media. Cara Delevingne announced the campaign on her Instagram account in a behind-the-scenes reveal of her mission with the help of Samsung’s SpaceSelfie astronaut. She said: 'I love the idea of space travel and can’t wait to lead Samsung’s SpaceSelfie mission. 'I’m already planning how I make this my most epic selfie ever and I’m looking forward to seeing how my fans interpret the challenge to get their face in space.'
